The CWD872 is a new generation digital 2 phase stepper motor driver, the design is implemented using 32-bit DSP processor architecture which gives a combination of the anti-resonance, low noise, more accurate micro stepping and reduced temperature rise this technology significantly improves the performance of the stepper motor and has low noise, reduced vibration, low temperature rise and high-speed torque.

The 32 bit DSP processor allows the implementation of complex algorithms which allow the use of online adaptive PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) technology without the need for manual adjustment it can automatically generate optimal parameters for different stepper motors and achieve the best performance. This high end processing power allows the driver to adapt and learn the characteristics of different steppers allowing for better performance and features already discussed above.

Supply voltage range from 24VDC to 80VDC or 20VAC to 60VAC is suitable for driving various 2-phase hybrid stepping motors which phase current below 7.2A.

The microstepping can be set from half-step (400 steps/rev) to 51200 steps/rev and the output current can be set form 2.4A to 7.2A with automatic idle-current reduction set on the driver, full on-board self-test, overvoltage, under-voltage and over-current protection.
